Program and Administrative Associate
Job Description:
Joshua Venture’s mission is to reinvigorate and expand the Jewish community by cultivating the leadership and management capability of talented passionate young Jewish social entrepreneurs and investing in their visions and the growth of healthy sustainable organizations. Joshua Venture offers a fellowship that provides seed funding, organizational and professional development support and communities of practice. The fellowship also confers legitimacy upon the fellows and their ventures, and expands their networks within the Jewish community.
POSITION:
The Program and Administrative Associate will be a critical member of Joshua Venture’s small team and work under the supervision of the Executive Director. The ideal candidate will manage administrative duties while taking on greater roles in program planning, meeting and retreat coordination, and stakeholder communications. Because Joshua Venture is in an early stage of development, there
will be great opportunity for responsibility, impact, and learning.
Duties will include but may not be limited to:
Program Planning and Execution
• Assist in all areas of the development, launching, and operating of the
fellowship
- Track fellowship applications and support selection process
- Manage communications with fellows once selected
- Assist in the development of curriculum materials
- Plan logistics for professional development retreats and other events for
fellows
- Source and maintain resources, such as roster of consultants and relevant non‐profit tools
Stakeholder Communication
• Manage constituent database, including data entry and maintenance
• Write, edit, and manage content for communications materials, including online, web, and print materials
General Administrative
• Perform general office management duties, including ordering supplies, vendor management, and other duties as assigned
• Organize logistics for board and other internal and stakeholder events
• Special projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum 3 years relevant work experience
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; additional education and life experience is a plus
• Experience managing multi‐component projects and planning events
• Familiarity with social media and networking tools
• Fluency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, as well as Internet research skills
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management
• Excellent interpersonal, and written and verbal communication skills
• Capacity to multi‐task, think creatively, take initiative, and follow through on assignments
• Positive, enthusiastic, and resourceful
• Strong ability to work independently as well as function well in a team
• Knowledge of and demonstrated commitment to the field of social entrepreneurship and the Jewish community preferred
